It is owned and managed by the Finnish Association for Nature Conservation (Suomen luonnonsuojeluliitto). With EKOenergy, we focus on the promotion of renewable energy, in many countries and in many languages. Our Secretariat hosts 8 European Solidarity Corps volunteers all year round. We are now looking for 4 new volunteers to join our team in August 2025: 1 from Germany, 1 from another EU country, and 2 from Ukraine. If you are interested in climate action, marketing, and outreach, please send us your application. The project activities include contacting energy consumers and supporting EKOenergy's general work (including administration). This requires the ability to concentrate and execute given tasks very precisely and carefully. All activities happen from our Secretariat in Helsinki.
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
- Accommodation: volunteers get a private room in a shared apartment All eight volunteers live in the same street. So, they can easily support each other when needed. - Volunteers get a monthly allowance to buy food + a bus ticket for transportation within Helsinki, - European Solidarity Corps pocket money. - European Solidarity Corps health insurance - Travel: we reimburse the travel from your country to Helsinki + return - Free-time opportunities: A lot of options in Helsinki.
Training during the activity
- Pre-arrival training by your ESC support organisation (sending organisation) - On-arrival training organised by Opetushallitus, the Finnish National Agency for Education - Regular information sharing on renewable energy markets and campaigning, within the team or provided by other environmental organisiations - Regular webinars about climate change and EU climate policy
Participant profile
- Interested in environment and climate protection. - Able to concentrate on administrative tasks and eagerness to execute them with precision - Social person, interested in living and working with other young volunteers. - Interested in communication (verbal and visual). Not afraid to contact unknown persons via phone or the Internet - Eagerness to learn new things - Able to work independently and take initiative - Most of the work happens from our office and with the computer. The project involves a lot of reading and writing.
