Description
The volunteer will assist with the "Community Empowerment for Village Development Uganda" (CEFOVID-UG) project, which aids marginalized slum residents. This initiative empowers disadvantaged girls and women by providing training in sewing, tailoring, and brand development while also improving access to social and economic services for orphans, vulnerable children, and youth. The goal of the deployment is to boost CEFOVID-UG’s public image and stakeholder engagement through media relations, content creation, and event management. Volunteers will • Develop and implement communication strategies • Manage social media - creating content, engaging followers, and monitoring trends • Assist in event management, including press conferences and public appearances • Track and analyze PR campaigns effectiveness • Support online fundraising efforts.
Modalités d'hébergement, de restauration et de transport
Accommodation shall be provided by the Host organization in a shared apartment with other volunteers but with own bedroom in Kasubi-Nakulabye suburbs of Kampala City. An allowance to cater for food and transport shall be offered by the Sending organization directly to the volunteer. The volunteer shall have to prepare their own meals. Public transport in and around Kampala is mainly by commuter taxis commonly known as Matatus. In the local communities, the volunteer shall use mainly motor-cycles called Boda bodas to connect from one point to another.
Formation pendant l’activité
The volunteer shall attend a pre-departure training that might be physical or online. This shall be arranged by Sending Organisation. Also, the volunteer shall attend an on-arrival induction in the host country prepared by the Host Organisation. The volunteer shall also be encouraged and supported to learn the local language that is mainly used in the communities where he/she shall be working.
