A Step Towards a Fair Future - PLOVDIV 2025/2026
Caritas Sofia
Plovdiv, Bulgarie
Description
Bulgaria has many children who are at risk of not receiving proper basic education. This happens because of various factors: very early marriages in Roma (Gypsy) communities, language barriers in ethnic minorities, bad social habits, mental slowness and speaking problems, disinterested parents; and others. Our '''St. Cyril and St. Methodius'' Centre in Kuklen, Plovdiv, is dedicated to helping such children finish their education until age 16, so that they can have decent future. We help the children by: assisting in homework and lessons, teaching them social and health habits, delivering therapy for speaking and other issues, providing positive and safe environment, engaging them with recreational activities such as sports, painting and other games. Plovdiv is arguably the oldest city in Europe, which witnessed the Thracian, Roman and Ottoman civilisations, and a home today to an old blend of Bulgarian, Turkish, Roma, and Armenian communities.

The volunteer will receive a monthly allowance for pocket money expenses and food expenses, in a local bank account. Profil du participant
You must be kind, honest, and respectful. You must care about the children's well-being and behave decently.
