Description

The Activity will take place on 12-25 May 2025 (+2 travel days) in Salamina Greece and it aspires to gather young people from EU-member states to carry out activities, research, and awareness-raising campaigns to activate and engage the local community. Their goal is to engage the local community of Salamina around key issues related to civil society and European policies, as well as to highlight volunteering and solidarity as essential characteristics for a cohesive society. The main thematic areas of the action include: • Participation in democratic life • Inclusion and diversity • Digital transition: Tools, skills, and rights • Sustainable and environmentally-friendly practices The volunteers will organize and participate in: • Awareness campaigns and community activation via social networks and local interventions • Research and interviews within the local community • Visits and activities in cooperation with local stakeholders • Multicultural activities and workshops

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

The costs of Travelling to the site of implementation are covered by the Programme and according the guidelines of the European Solidarity Corps Guide and based on the distances provided by the European Commission’s Distance Calculator. The volunteers will book their flights following the approval of the hosts and get a reimbursement according to the financial guidelines. Accommodation will be covered by the hosting organization in double or triple hotel rooms, based on a gender allocation -breakfast included. Lunches and dinners will also be covered by the hosting organization.

Training during the activity

As part of the activity, the volunteers will be trained with a schedule of non-formal and experiential learning methodology based on YOCOMO Model of Competences. Additionally, team-building activities, integration and intercultural events will be held to further facilitate the cohesion of the team. The training will be extended to each part of their tasks as the trainer will assist them. Indicatively, this will include: -Campaign Development & Digital Tools' Use -Organizing Local Events -Implementing Surveys & Data Analysis -Drafting Ideas for Projects/Initiatives

Participant profile

For the purpose of this activity, we are looking for 10 international participants residing in EU-Member States who • are between 18 and 30 years old, • have a good working knowledge of the English language, • have adequate knowledge and skills on using social media, computer, and Microsoft Office, • believe in the values of human rights, respect, solidarity, inclusion and equality, have an open mind and creativity • are willing to work and interact in an international multicultural environment, • wish to collaborate in a creative process and participate in “peer-to-peer” learning experience, • have previous experience of working with young people (is beneficial but not a prerequisite)
