Description
"Le(t)svos" is a short-term (2-weeks) volunteering project in Chidira, a quiet village on the island of Lesvos, Greece. Participants will live collectively and engage in creative activities that benefit the local community, including painting murals in public spaces, leading playful workshops for local children, and enhancing a nearby walking path. The project brings together young people from across Europe to explore solidarity, rural life, intercultural learning, and shared community impact. Participants will experience life in a traditional Greek village, contribute to artistic and social revitalization, and co-create meaningful memories through teamwork and cultural exchange.
Modalités d'hébergement, de restauration et de transport
1. Participants will stay in a shared sleeping space (mixed-gender) inside the local community cultural center in Chidira. Facilities are basic, with one toilet and one shower per biological sex 2. All meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner) will be provided daily by the organizers 3. The project will start in Lesvos. Travel & reimbursement details will be shared via a separate info-pack upon selection 4. Participants must bring a sleeping bag and be ready for close communal living with limited privacy 5. Each participant will get Pocket money (7 euro /day) 6. Working hours: 4-6 hours/day
Formation pendant l’activité
The project includes team-building, orientation, and ESC-related training at the start. Throughout the stay, participants will develop skills in group cooperation, artistic expression (through mural painting), non-formal education (by designing activities for kids), and intercultural communication. The experience fosters adaptability, creativity, and a hands-on understanding of rural volunteering and community engagement.
Profil du participant
- CITIZENS FROM EU COUNTRIES We are looking for open-minded, motivated young people (18–30 years old) who are ready to live simply, work collaboratively, and contribute creatively. Ideal participants enjoy teamwork, have basic artistic interest (no need to be a pro!), and are willing to support activities with local children. Flexibility, respect for rural life, and emotional maturity are essential. This project is perfect for those eager to disconnect from fast-paced life and reconnect with nature, culture, and community spirit.
