Cultural heritage and ecological transition at the Villandraut Castle 3
REMPART
ADICHATS
Villandraut, France
Description
The Adichats association works to preserve and promote our heritage. They even manage several medieval castles, isn't that amazing? But that's not all, they also aim to create social bonds and adopt more environmentally friendly practices in their activities. And guess what? They need you to achieve this! So, your principal mission, should you choose to accept it, is to: 1. Take part in heritage restoration workcamps - you'll be practising traditional skills (stone-cutting, carpentry, archaeology...) to collectively refresh our monuments on a specific restoration project. If you like history and working with your hands, these workcamps are for you! This is the opportunity to rub elbows with history buffs and to tackle a meaningful and fulfilling task. 2. Act in favor of the Ecological Transition through our associative actions - Evaluate our current practices and suggest eco-friendly alternatives, particulary on the heritage workcamps.
Modalités d'hébergement, de restauration et de transport
You will be welcomed to the charming village of Villandraut in South Gironde! It has all the essential local shops and services. You'll be living in a group, in tents (one per person) on the castle site during the heritage workcamp or in collective dormitories in a large house. On the castle site, there are solar showers, dry toilets, access to drinking water and electricity, and large tables. Meals are prepared by you, collectively. Bring warm clothes and a sleeping bag as it can be colder at night. Public transport is as rare around here, but fear not! We've got bicycles.
Formation pendant l’activité
The activities are supervised by a group leader for daily life and leisure activities and a technician to teach you the gestures. On the menu: visiting a vineyard with wine tasting, heritage sites, bee-keeping, canoe trips, etc. The activities are flexible, depending on the wishes of the group. Volunteering workcamps allow us to share strong community moments while being introduced to restoration and traditional workcrafts.
Profil du participant
As part of the European Solidarity Corps we accept volunteers that are between 18 and 30 years old. If you've got a deep passion for heritage and environmental issues, consider that a bonus point! But here's the deal: What really matters is your enthusiasm, your openness, and a good attitude. We're not just a group; we're a team. So, what are you waiting for? Jump on board – you're more than welcome! We're all about embracing diverse interests – whether you're an artist, a nature enthusiast, or anyone else ! Get ready for a LIFE-CHANGING ADVENTURE!
