Description

The volunteer who will come within the scope of this volunteering will take part in working areas such as project office, social assistance work, environmental protection work, and the social media department. The volunteer will be assigned according to his/her skills and interests, contributing to youth-focused activities, local community initiatives, and social responsibility projects in Istanbul. The volunteering period is 59 days excluding travel. Following a preliminary evaluation, shortlisted candidates will be invited to an online interview, and selected volunteers will receive a detailed information package by email.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

A fully furnished apartment close to the metro will be provided for the volunteer. The accommodation is close to the city centre. There will be wifi in the house for the volunteer to use. Volunteers' individual funding will be allocated according to the rules of the European Solidarity Corps. In addition, the volunteer will be provided with a bus pass to reach the office and other centres. The volunteer's travel expenses will be allocated according to the European Solidarity Corps distance band rules.

Training during the activity

Orientation training after arrival (city tour, introducing the organisation, show round of the organisation's facilities, shopping places, hospital, police, and city governor). There will be a Turkish language course 1 hour per week. Since the project is short-term, there will be no further training during the opportunity.

Participant profile

Participants should be aged 18–30, with at least B2-C1 level of English, and residing in one of the specified countries. Candidates should have participated in at least 2 European Union projects, demonstrate strong social communication skills, and ideally have previous experience abroad. Prior experience in writing Erasmus+ or ESC projects is an asset. Proficiency in MS Office programmes and standard office equipment is required.
