It helps people to overcome emergencies and guarantee a life worth living, by offering opportunities and a better future through programmes of human and economic development. We are looking for 2 volunteers, who have not yet taken part in the European Solidarity Corps Program, who will join our mission in Kenya! You will learn how to support the project team in implementing and monitoring activities focusing on strengthening quality education and the protection of vulnerable children and Gender based violence prevention. You will learn how to work with local communities affected by the negative consequences of climate change.
Modalités d'hébergement, de restauration et de transport
The Host organization will cover the accommodation costs and utility bills and you will be provided with free Wi-fi, a local sim card and a laptop. You will receive pocket money for your personal expenses, including food and local transport. Travel costs from your home country to the country of deployment will be covered by WeWorld. Insurance (Henner) will be activated for the whole duration of your deployment.
Formation pendant l’activité
You will attend an online pre-departure induction on WeWorld’s work and policies, technical and thematic aspects of humanitarian aid, Safety&Security, mentoring, and practical arrangements (visa, insurance, etc). Once in the country, you will participate in an induction on the Host organization and your role during the deployment. We encourage you to participate in training opportunities during your deployment, online or organized by our national and international partners; you will have a small budget for external courses and you will have access to WeWorld's e-learning platform.
Profil du participant
We look for motivated people, who have not yet taken part in the European Solidarity Corps initiative, ready to socialize and experience a different culture, able to adapt and work in a team for a period of 11-12 months. Are you interested in project management, monitoring and evaluation, and international cooperation? You will be supported by a line manager and a field mentor that will follow up on your volunteering experience. Equality and inclusiveness are part of the core values of EU and WeWorld. The European Solidarity Corps initiative provides opportunities that are accessible for all. However, some people cannot benefit equally from these opportunities because they face various barriers. Inclusion of people facing access barriers or having fewer opportunities is a key objective of European Solidarity Corps Program, aiming at establishing a dedicated framework for inclusion measures. In the process of collecting and selecting your application for ESC Program, WeWorld includes Inclusion and Diversity criteria in its selection process.
