Description
Agapedia is a German private foundation, which was founded by Jürgen Klinsmann in 1995. The foundation’s activities promote social change in five countries: Germany, Romania, Bulgaria, Republic of Moldova and Georgia. Every day at the German Agapedia Children's Centre, 30 to 60 children aged six to twelve learn how to use their spare time sensibly. These children learn how to be self-confidence, to cooperate and to make decisions through children's circuses, crafting, sports, games and relationship-building guidance. We combine open social work for children with obligatory workshops in areas such as dance, cooking, arts and crafts and music to help children realize and tap their full potential. In addition to the daily activities, Agapedia offers also special thematic holidays programmes (such as ART Camp). The International Project Office at the Children's Centre in Esslingen is our factory of ideas.
Participant profile
Creative people are always very welcome, in particular with special interest in circus. Also project managers find meaningful activities in Agapedia's European activities. In any case, Agapedia tries to involve people with different abilities because the managing directors believe in diversity. We require applications of Volunteers with at least A2 German language level.
