The volunteering project promoted by Somos Europa aims to involve young Europeans in an active participation process within the local life of Padul, a rural town in the metropolitan area of Granada. Over the course of nine months, volunteers will become part of the organization’s team, contributing to the development of activities mainly targeting the local youth. The initiative seeks to promote values such as solidarity, active citizenship and social engagement, while encouraging intercultural learning, personal growth and the development of key competences. The project focuses particularly on direct interaction with children, teenagers and young people through educational, cultural and awareness-raising activities, as well as the promotion of the European Solidarity Corps programme and other European opportunities. All of this is framed within a transformative experience of immersion in the reality of an open, diverse rural community that remains strongly connected to the EU values
Alojamiento, manutención y transporte
Volunteers will live in a shared house in Padul with private rooms and fully equipped common areas. They will receive 200 euros monthly for food and 6 euros per day as pocket money for personal expenses. If travel is needed for project activities, a transportation card will be provided and recharged monthly. All arrangements aim to ensure comfort and full participation throughout the experience.
Perfil del participante
The ideal participant is a young person between 20 and 30 years old, open-minded, motivated, and eager to contribute to a community project while learning from the experience. They should be flexible, proactive, and ready to engage with young people, participate in educational and cultural activities, and adapt to the dynamics of a rural environment. A positive attitude, willingness to learn, and commitment to the full duration of the project are essential. Previous experience in youth work or volunteering is valued but not required.
