Description
Project takes place in Ankkapurha Youth Centre in Kouvola, Finland, only 1,5h from Helsinki. Volunteer’s main job is organizing two Christmas themed events for local families and youth. One event is arranged in the Youth Centre area for local families with the help of Ankkapurha Youth Centre workers. Second event is held in local youth house or school for youngsters. Volunteers will plan activities and work in the events. We offer volunteers a chance to give something from themselves and their culture to Youth Center’s work community and to our young customers while learning about Finnish culture.
Modalités d'hébergement, de restauration et de transport
Accommodation is arranged in Ankkapurha Youth Centre hostel which includes basic rooms to sleep, shared living room, bathroom and kitchen. Game room, sauna, a hut and sport hall of youth centre can be used free on agreed times on free time. Accommodation is booked only for volunteers. One free meal is included for every workday. The work happens mainly at surroundings of youth centre. At time to move somewhere youth centre will provide tickets. For moving from airport and back while travelling to and from Finland Ankkapurha Youth Centre staff will help to find the best options for transport.
Formation pendant l’activité
Arrival training is arranged at the first days of project time. Volunteers will receive all necessary training for the work tasks and all work is supervised by the staff of Youth Centre.
Profil du participant
Volunteer has interest in working with children and youth. Work does not require former experience of mentioned tasks. Open mind and will to try and learn new things and skills are highly respected. We want a volunteer who: -Commits to the project from planning till the final evaluation -Is eager to get to know about new culture and having multiple learning experiences -Has a will to work as a part of team.
