Médicos del Mundo has extensive experience in interventions focused on the universal right to health, gender based on human rights, and special attention to vulnerable groups. In Bolivia, it has been carrying out interventions since 2001. The volunteer will assist with the technical/financial monitoring of assigned projects/programmes by providing support in the formulation, implementation, reporting and justification of these projects/programmes, reporting to key stakeholders (country coordination, grassroots coordination, project/programme coordination and other stakeholders/donors) based on their initial formulation, the strategic documents of MdM and in accordance with the bases and justification regulations for each grant, in order to obtain clear and concise information on the life of the project/programme and the results and objectives achieved, with special emphasis on improving health and its relationship with environmental determinants.

Alojamiento, manutención y transporte

The volunteer will be based in the city of Cobija, where the MdM office in Pando is located. From there, based on a set schedule and the needs of the mission, they may be transferred to other areas where projects are being carried out (currently the departments of La Paz and Santa Cruz). All internal travel by the volunteer will be coordinated and supported by the MdM team (in accordance with current safety regulations). Accommodation, return flights, visa and vaccination costs, health insurance and basic equipment, including laptops and telephones will be provided during the deployment.

Formación durante la actividad

Volunteers will improve their professional knowledge through training in humanitarian action, and specific issues on security, gender, psychosocial support, etc. and will be provided with online training resources to continue their learning. Those selected will receive briefings and training at MdM headquarters in Madrid with the different departments related to the mission and the position, as well as a specific online trainings before they start their field work. Training sessions will take place both in the countries of the support and the host organisations.

Perfil del participante

• Bachelor's degree, training in the field or related to Health and Environment will be valued. • Knowledge of financing instruments and donor guidelines and project cycle management. • Experience or additional training in strategy definition, project/programme identification and formulation, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and capitalisation. • Knowledge of gender, human rights and the environment. Training in public health and the environment is highly desirable. • Experience in the field of international cooperation will be valued. • Contextual knowledge (Bolivia) will be valued. Eligibility : Candidates must be 18 to 35 years old, reside in one of the eligible countries (EU Member State, North Macedonia, Iceland, Liechtenstein or Turkey), have completed the compulsory Humanitarian Aid Volunteering training and not have participated before in individual Humanitarian Aid Volunteering. When adding together this new volunteering opportunity and any previous participation in EU volunteering programmes, the total duration cannot exceed 12 months.
