Description
- Training Workshops: Volunteers will collaborate on a series of training workshops designed to strengthen women's skills and capacities. These workshops will cover topics such as: Personal empowerment, leadership, self-confidence, and decision-making. - Productive skills, including cooking and computer skills. Human rights and gender equity, providing information on human rights, gender equity, and domestic violence prevention. - Working Groups and Collaborative Projects: Volunteers will help form and facilitate working groups between vulnerable women and high school students from local schools and the CETPRO (Technical Productive Education Center). The goal is to foster intergenerational collaboration and mutual learning. - Community Outreach: Volunteers will participate in organizing community outreach and awareness events to promote gender equality and respect for women's rights. These events will also highlight the value of women's productive work
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
Accommodation is in Punta Negra, located on the Pacific Ocean. Rooms are shared between two volunteers, and each room has its own private bathroom with a shower and hot water. The house has a kitchen, laundry room, and common area. Wi-Fi is available in the accommodation 24 hours a day. For lunch and dinner, volunteers will receive a daily stipend of 32 soles, which is approximately 8 euros per day. The distance between the accommodation and the volunteer work sites varies: • The shortest distance is just 5 minutes. • The longest is 40 minutes, depending on the project activities.
Training during the activity
Upon their arrival in Peru, volunteers will receive an initial training to help them prepare for their project. This training will focus on the following topics: • Cultural Orientation • Personal Safety • Health and Wellness • Risk Management • Roles and Responsibilities • Target Group Sensitivity • Communication Skills • Emergency Plans
Participant profile
For Individual volunteering Candidates must be 18 to 35 years old, reside in one of the eligible countries (EU Member State, North Macedonia, Iceland, Liechtenstein or Turkey), have completed the compulsory Humanitarian Aid Volunteering training and not have participated before in individual Humanitarian Aid Volunteering. When adding together this new volunteering opportunity and any previous participation in EU volunteering programmes, the total duration cannot exceed 12 months. We are seeking dynamic, compassionate, and motivated individuals who are passionate about education, community development, women's empowerment, youth leadership, and sustainability. *Open-minded, adaptable, and culturally sensitive *Background or strong interest in education, community work, arts, social work, agriculture, or youth empowerment *Experience in teaching, facilitation, or youth work is an advantage, but not mandatory *Willing to engage in teamwork and clear, respectful communication.
