The power of together

ESC Volunteering Team: Nature Community & Uniartcity (15 Oct – 30 Nov 2025, Germany)

Nature Community eG

Schönsee, Germany

Description

Nature Community and Uniartcity share one vision: to live, learn, and build together in community — with responsibility, sustainability, and hands-on learning. This ESC Volunteering Team offers you a versatile two-part experience. Phase 1 (15–30 Oct): Guided by Uniartcity mentors, you help transform our old hunting museum into a living and learning space for students of Uniartcitys upcoming winter semester. You will work with wood, insulation, wall heating, clay, and share cooking and social life in a community environment among other young people. Phase 2 (Nov): With Nature Community mentors you shift to renovating our wellness area, helping our permaculture gardening project, and our vegan community kitchen. You also join social learning practices — sharing circles, reflection, teamwork — to grow your resilience and collaboration skills. Together we explore sustainable living, EU solidarity, and community spirit in a vibrant intercultural setting.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

All activities take place under the umbrella of the Nature Community. In Phase 1, volunteers stay at the old hunting museum with the UniArtCity team, sharing simple accommodation and vegan meals. In Phase 2, accommodation is provided in the Nature Community guesthouse. Meals are vegan and organic, prepared together with the community. Travel costs are reimbursed according to ESC rules upon presentation of tickets.

Training during the activity

Volunteers receive hands-on training in ecological building (wood, insulation, wall heating, clay), permaculture gardening, and vegan cooking. In addition, community tools such as sharing circles, deep listening, and group reflection sessions will support social learning, resilience, communication, conflict skills, and teamwork. Both Nature Community members and UniArtCity mentors will accompany and guide the learning process.

Participant profile

We are looking for motivated young people (18–30) who are open to community life and eager to learn. You enjoy varied tasks — from renovation and gardening to cooking and group activities — and bring curiosity rather than prior experience. You are willing to take responsibility, try out new skills, and reflect on yourself in a group setting. If you are interested in sustainable living, teamwork, and personal development, this project will offer you the chance to grow while contributing actively to a unique intercultural community.
