Vesilahti, Finlandia

Descripción

The project is run by Kurki Ecovillage Association. The main goals are to encourage sustainable and Eco-friendly practices, create a diverse and multicultural environment, support youngsters with fewer opportunities, promote tolerance and solidarity. The volunteers' work tasks include planning and cooking community lunches, caretaker tasks (heating sauna, compost and dry-toilets maintenance, etc), taking care of our small food gardens, seasonal work (picking berries, mushrooms, wild herbs...), assisting in building tasks (barn renovation), collaborating with local schools, youth centers and solidarity organizations, helping organize cultural events, etc. This project is a great chance to get to know a new country and its traditions, be in contact with nature, make meaningful connections, implement your own ideas and projects, take time to reflect on the world and yourself, get out of your comfort zone and experience new adventures! :)

Alojamiento, manutención y transporte

Our volunteers live together, sharing a house with mini-kitchen, beds in two floors (about 56 m2). Our community house is most of the time for their use. There are kitchen, living room and dry toilet downstairs and open upper floor for resting, reading etc. We also have lunch in the community house. That is very important time for really meet each others daily. For other meals food allowance is provided. In our sauna building volunteers there is laundry room and shower/washing room.
