Description
Typical activities can and will involve as such: - Helping the group teachers during their work with the pupils in care-taking tasks. Actively collaborate and participate in daily activities for the kids; - Help for the teachers, preparing various didactic materials for activities; basketball, dancing and English language activities, arts and theatre, hikes and different trips; - Help for a teacher with varied educational activities for parents; to arrange the various discussions about volunteering, cultural differences, youth policy; at various events to present volunteers country and culture; - Helping to organize various events in the kindergarten and out of the kindergarten activities and events (competitions; performances, international evenings). Participating in joint activities and joint work, sporting events, local amateur groups. - Documenting kindergarten events, supporting the management of kindergarten's Facebook page etc.
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
Accommodation: The volunteer would be accommodated in the students dormitory. He/she will have his/her own room. Food: Nutrition issues will be solved by consensus, volunteer will be able to choose to eat independently or in the canteen (the kindergarten can offer breakfast, lunch and dinner). For free days and for dinner the volunteer will get money. With his/her money he/she can eat outside or cook at apartment. Local Transport: In case of need, the volunteer will be provided with public transport monthly ticket.
Training during the activity
Pre-departure training (held by Supporting (Sending) organisation). On-arrival training (held by LT National agency). Mid-term training (held by LT National agency). Follow up training (held by Supporting (Sending) organisation).
Participant profile
The main aim of the volunteer is helping with the education and care-taking activities for the children as well as with everyday duties. Volunteer profile: - Genuine interest in working with children. - Patience, empathy, and a caring attitude. - Responsibility and reliability in completing assigned tasks. - Willingness to support teachers and staff in daily activities. - Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. - Respectful and positive approach toward children, parents, and colleagues. - Flexibility and openness to learning new skills. - Previous experience with children is an advantage, but not required.
