Description
You will support the organization increasing the Mission awareness of local Disaster Risk reduction (DRR), Climate and WASH context by contributing to Environment, DRR/DP/HA and climate change assessments and analysis, identifying environment, disaster, and climate risks, mainstreaming risk mitigation measure and monitoring current global and local trends in climate change and DRR interventions and participating in Clusters and relevant coordination platforms. You will also support the enhancement of DRR, Climate change and WASH analytical and mainstreaming/proposal development and report writing, as well as project implementation/project cycle management capacities. You will help technical coordinators in conducting related capacity building activities and research on new, innovative, adaptive strategies and interventions.
Modalités d'hébergement, de restauration et de transport
The volunteer will have a standard of living similar to the standard in the country. A monthly Subsistence Lump Sum will be provided to cover basic needs such as food and personal hygiene items and local transport. The accommodation (volunteers will be accommodated in individual flats), travel, visa, pre-deployment medical check and mandatory vaccinations for the country will be covered, and an allowance will be provided. In case of need, Fewer Opportunities Support will also be covered.
Formation pendant l’activité
The Volunteer will attend online before and on-site induction at the arrival to her/his deployment Mission. Training during deployment will also be offered to improve the volunteer’s skills and competences.
Profil du participant
You have studies in Environment, Climate Change and Disaster Risk Reduction, WASH, social sciences or international development. You are fluent in English, and you are knowledgeable with DRR and Climate Change, about Humanitarian Peace, and Development Nexus, and familiar with gender issues and equality policies analysis IASC gender and age markers, and SPHERE standards. You are able to assess/manage DRR and Climate change outputs, outcomes, and impacts. You have high analytical, effective communication capacities, facilitation, synthesis and computer/IT skills. Eligibility : Candidates must be 18 to 35 years old, reside in one of the eligible countries (EU Member State, North Macedonia, Iceland, Liechtenstein or Turkey), and have completed the compulsory Humanitarian Aid Volunteering training. Candidates can sum up two or more ESC volunteering to a maximum of 12 months overall.
