Description
ActionAid, works towards active citizenship to combat inequalities and advocate for human rights. It implements projects focusing on eradicating gender-based violence, upholding migrants' rights, and promoting climate justice. Join our Kolda office to support all phases of the project, from identification to evaluation. You will gain experience in designing rural livelihood initiatives with a gender approach, recognizing women as leaders in the agro-ecological transition. You will learn about Spanish funding mechanisms and fieldwork with local partners, with a focus on empowerment and autonomy for both rights-holders and accountability-holders. Contribute to supporting rural development projects aimed at promoting women’s economic independence, their participation in decision-making bodies, and solid waste management through the circular economy.
Modalités d'hébergement, de restauration et de transport
You will have the opportunity to live with other volunteers but with individual bedroom. The accommodation costs and utility bills will be covered by the organization and phone card will be provided. The house will be located in Kolda. You will receive a monthly allowance of 479,72€ for your personal expenses, including food and local transport. For the activities of Action Aid vehicle will be provided. You will also be covered with a health insurance (Henner).
Formation pendant l’activité
You will receive comprehensive pre-deployment training in line with our induction framework, including induction to our organization and the ESC Program, roles and responsibilities, Youthpass and Henner insurance, Code of Conduct, SHEA and safeguarding policies, feminist leadership, security, finance, communication, psychological support and self-care. In the field, you will receive security and project-specific training. By the end of your volunteering period, you will have gained practical experience working within a multidisciplinary team in a humanitarian context.
Profil du participant
We are looking for a person eager to learn and work in a team and with the adaptability to work in cultural environments very different from their own and who is curious and respectful in learning about new cultures. We are looking for someone with interest and motivation in developing skills and learning of the different phases of the project cycle through the perspective of decolonial and anti-racist feminism. It is necessary to have a level of French that at least allows basic day-to-day communication in order to be able to defend oneself for routine activities and to be able to continue learning the language in the country. But a working level will be highly valued. Any previous experience in NGOs or associations, basic knowledge on gender issues will be an asset. If you are migrant, live in rural areas, have limited economic support or any other don´t hesitate to sign up, this opportunity is for everyone!
