CREATE, EXPRESS, SHARE : News perspectives in Normandy

MJC Le Rond-Point

L'Aigle, France

Description

Our association provides non formal education, and it is a place which promotes an access to culture for all. The name of the association symbolizes a crossing of artistic expressions: Music - Sport & wellbeing - Dance - Media. Our goal is to support young people in their actions and projects. Another important value for our association is the creation of an intergenerational link in this territory. The mission of the volunteer will be : - Promote EU citizenship and openness to the world. - Contribute and use the tool of a Web Radio and Web TV to develop a project. - Participate and organize events and activities of the association. - Organize an international summer camp with our twin associations. - Develop your personal project.

Modalités d'hébergement, de restauration et de transport

You will be housed in an apartment where up to 3 people can settle in 3 separated bedrooms and share a kitchen and a living space. The association provides a financial package so you can manage your food (7€ per day) and pocket money (8€ per day). Because we do encourage green transport, a bicycle is made available for use in l’Aigle. If you have the driving license, you can use the MJC car for ESC related missions.

Formation pendant l’activité

You will participate to a ESC welcoming seminar in France with other european volunteers and to another ESC mid-term evaluation seminar. You will attend to 1 hour of French classes per week with one of our volunteers (possibility to do more). Then you will have the opportunity to get into everything we handle, like radio techniques, sport courses (yoga, pilates, ...), communication (posts, videos, ...), languages workshops (French, English, Spanish and more) and youth entertainment (blind tests, all kind of cultural and sporting activity). We also encourage civic trainings and commitment.

Profil du participant

Most of all, we are looking for someone motivated and not afraid of getting out of its confort zone. Living aborad is an amazing and wonderful experience but it may not be that easy everyday of your journey. You shall want to learn new things, create, try it and share new perspectives. You eventually will be able to take initiatives once you get used to life here. Communication and organisation skills will be promoted. French B1 is advised (l'Aigle is a countryside city, very few people speak english). You shall have a certain degree of sensibility to promote cultural awareness, even more for people who has limited access to it. Having a team spirit is something we promote daily, just like being open minded and empathic.
