Description
This short-term volunteering project brings together Italian and Albanian young people to join Beyond Barriers Association (BBA) in Tirana for two weeks of intercultural learning, creativity and community engagement. Volunteers will collaborate with local youth, schools and organizations to promote inclusion, solidarity, and European values. Activities include awareness campaigns on ESC and Erasmus+, intercultural sessions, art workshops with children with hearing impairments, media creation and cultural evenings. Through teamwork and shared experiences, participants will develop new skills, foster mutual understanding and strengthen the bonds between Albanian and Italian communities while contributing positively to the local social environment.
Modalités d'hébergement, de restauration et de transport
Volunteers will be hosted in shared apartments in the lively Don Bosko area of Tirana, close to the BBA office and city center. Rooms accommodate two people (same-sex when possible) and include all basic facilities and unlimited Wi-Fi. Local transport is easy and accessible via the city’s bus network. Airport transfers can be arranged with an electric taxi service. Upon arrival, BBA staff will welcome and assist volunteers. Groceries, cafés, and shops are available nearby and food allowances will be provided for meals.
Formation pendant l’activité
Before and during the activity, volunteers will receive orientation and continuous support from BBA staff, YMCA and mentors. The training will cover cultural adaptation, teamwork, communication and safety, as well as specific guidance related to the planned activities. Volunteers will also receive daily supervision and evaluation to ensure a positive learning experience and successful implementation of project tasks.
Profil du participant
We are looking for motivated young people aged 18–29 from Albania and Italy who are eager to learn, collaborate and contribute to community life. Volunteers should be open-minded, responsible and respectful toward diversity. A positive attitude, curiosity and willingness to engage in creative, intercultural and educational activities are essential. No previous experience is required, only enthusiasm, teamwork spirit and readiness to live a meaningful group experience. Volunteers are expected to act responsibly, maintain professional conduct, honor commitments and actively participate in all training and project activities.
