Description
Urgently looking volunteers able to create musical workshops for children age 6 to 11 and if possible able to play any instrument bass, guitar and drumms (alsoy brass and wind players – clarinet, trombone, saxophone, flute, etc.) to join an unique swing volunteer band as part of a meaningful art and social project with other activities to support civil society that suffered from Dana. The selected volunteers will join a group of French musicians that will perform 4 concerts for different municipallities . Depending on your music al level there will be occasional educational activities with children, agriculture , reconstructing activities and visits to senior centers or other social events to support the community organizations in the area, to complete 6-7 working hours a day. 2 days per week will be free.
Modalités d'hébergement, de restauration et de transport
Initial project will be done in Sanet but it can happen to be relocated in other places close to Valencia. The volunteers will stay in a volunteer house, Casa Jazmin, with three rooms with several bunkbeds and bathrooms. They will share rooms with four to six other volunteers. The house includes a nice kitchen in which the volunteers will cook for themselves in the guidance of the camp leaders. The organization will provide pillows sheets and covers if asked. La Casa Jazmín is recently renovated but there are always some pending tasks to complete and volunteers may be asked to do some work.
Formation pendant l’activité
This project provides the occasion to increase key competences that are necessary for youth to become active citizens and to improve their educational and employment prospects. It will provide an opportunity to be involved in activities based on non-formal education, involving people on a voluntary basis, providing youngsters with opportunities to acquire a wide range of skills (personal, professional, and intercultural) through planned non-formal and informal activities. At the end of the Service, new skills acquired by the volunteers will be recognized through the Youth Pass certificate.
Profil du participant
We are looking prefererably for very motivated young people who have excellent musical skills and can play an instrument preferably bass or drums (or ( a brass and a metal (clarinet, trombone, saxophone, flute etc... maybe other instruments) to be inlcude in a Swing Band. Lindy hop dancers, singers and video makers may be included somehow as long as the can play music. We are also looking for stage man/women able to drive an old van. Candidates SHOULD send us a video where we can evaluate their skills as a musician together with a CV.Any other volunteer, including also those with fewer opportunities are also welcome to apply
