Description
The ESC volunteer's mission will revolve around the following main tasks: 1. Establish an effective advocacy dynamic around forest preservation. - Identify policy issues related to the problem in question - Identify key actors and institutions in relation to these policy issues - Analyze the policy environment - Identify target audiences - Select advocacy tactics - Identify key messages - Define advocacy campaign activities - Set a timetable and assign responsibilities - Prepare campaign budget 2- Support the capitalization of best practices in the field of forest preservation - Set up a process for capitalizing on best practices in forest conservation. - Identify local forest preservation practices

CONDITIONS Monthly allowance: €791.67 to cover meals and everyday expenses Installation bonus: €300 to settle in comfortably Return bonus: €1,000 when you go back to your home country Travel & housing covered: your airfare, visa costs and accommodation are on us Personalized support: our local team will assist you in finding the perfect place to live
Training during the activity
All volunteers accompanied by France Volontaires will take part in a compulsory training session at the organization's headquarters in Paris, one month before departure, to validate their deployment. A briefing is also planned with Espace Volontariats in Cameroon on arrival.
Participant profile
IMPORTANT Eligibility : Candidates must be 18 to 35 years old, reside in one of the eligible countries (EU Member State, North Macedonia, Iceland, Liechtenstein or Turkey), have completed the compulsory Humanitarian Aid Volunteering training and not have participated before in individual Humanitarian Aid Volunteering. When adding together this new volunteering opportunity and any previous participation in EU volunteering programmes, the total duration cannot exceed 12 months. Language(s) required and level: Fluent French / English B1 minimum (read, written, spoken) Desired training(s): 5 years' higher education in social sciences, project management, sustainable development or any other related field. Desired professional/associate experience(s) : Experience in associative mobilization, influence communication, Experience in drafting advocacy documents Previous professional or volunteer experience in developing countries and/or with civil society organizations (CSOs) would be a plus; Willingness to commit to safeguarding sensitive ecosystems and helping communities adapt to climate change and risks. Main skills and abilities required: Know-how : Negotiation skills Lobbying & mobilization of decision-makers (public policy players, civil society, etc.) Ability to analyze the political and social context Good writing and synthesis skills; Mastery and design of communication tools Computer skills (Office Suite) are essential. Personal skills : Ability to work in an intercultural context Good communication skills Good interpersonal skills Dynamic and proactive attitude Teamwork Autonomy Strong organizational ability to meet deadlines Ability to adapt to changing circumstances Other requirements : - Proper dress in a professional context - Correctness and politeness towards others - Respect for others - Respect for local traditions and cultures
