Description

Rehabilitation centre for torture victims “memoria” is a unique center in Moldova that offers comprehensive information and support to victims of torture, victims of gender-based violence and to Moldovan citizens as well as to refugees and asylum seekers in Moldova. As a volunteer you will contribute to meaningful projects that promote democracy and human rights in Moldova. Gain hands-on experience in project management, fundraising, event planning, and communication strategy. As a volunteer, you will: - Assist with project management, monitoring, and evaluation. -Conduct need assessments, surveys, and data analysis. - Support fundraising efforts and update donor databases. - Contribute to communication strategies, newsletters, and website updates. - Help organize seminars, conferences, and events.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

Volunteers are accommodated in shared apartments together with other international or local volunteers. Each volunteer has their own private room, while the kitchen, bathroom, and common spaces are shared. The apartments are of a comfortable, middle-class standard and located in safe areas of Chișinău. Volunteers receive a monthly food allowance, which allows them to buy and prepare their own meals. In some cases, they may also eat at the organisation during project activities. In addition, volunteers will receive a transport allowance to cover daily commuting costs.

Training during the activity

The volunteer will receive guidance and support from a supervisor and will participate in a pre-departure and on-arrival training.

Participant profile

We are open to hosting volunteers from diverse backgrounds. No specific qualifications are required — motivation, openness, and interest in the project’s topic are most important. We encourage volunteers whose interests align with the project’s goals, but adaptability and a willingness to learn are key. We only accept volunteers from the Netherlands (nationality or resident).
