The Maison d'Accueil Spécialisée Marc Toussaint is a lodging and day care center for adults with heavy physical disabilities. The center is in the suburbs of Reims, in Cormontreuil, located 45 min from Paris by train. The volunteer will take part in leisure activities (animations) such as manual workshops, well-being activities, outings, boardgames, and adapted sport activities, cooking workshops, make-up activities, etc. He/She might work with another European volunteer, French volunteers and two activity leaders. Having a basic knowledge of the French language is necessary. Modalités d'hébergement, de restauration et de transport
The volunteer will get his own flat and can eat in the restaurant of the organization (Lunch and Dinner during the week) but they can also cook directly in the flat. They will receive money for the weekend. The volunteer will also receive pocket money and local transport support.
Formation pendant l’activité
During the mission of the volunteer, there will be two training formations. The first one is called the “Welcome training” which is held for 5 days in one city of France (not decided yet). And the second which is called “Midterm training” which is 4 days in another city in the middle of the volunteering period.
Profil du participant
This is a perfect place for those who want to live an experience in the social field. Some human qualities such as a sense of listening, patience, and skills to communicate are needed and will be developed. The volunteers have to like helping other people, and be ready to overcome some gestures of everyday life. A minimum of initiative sense will also be required. A basic knowledge of French is necessary. He/she should show the willingness to learn French during the voluntary stay.
