Description

Fundación Condado de Taboada (FCT) is a foundation based in northern Spain, in the region of Galicia. Its headquarters are located in A Coruña, and it operates several activity centres across the province, including Betanzos, Cambados, and Taboada. The main objective of FCT is to generate a positive impact on the local community through a range of initiatives and projects, such as sustainable rural development, the protection of cultural heritage, and the fight against cancer. The Action to Protect – Cultural Heritage Programme is an individual long-term volunteering activity that will involve three volunteers from different partner countries for a period of 11 months. Each volunteer will participate in a different project, assigned according to their profile and interests. The projects will focus on the following fields: agriculture, marketing, and the restoration of coastal and marine areas.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

The foundation will offer monthly pocket money and food allowances, and their travel will be covered in line with the applicable rules and regulations of European Solidarity Corps 2025 guide. The volunteers will be co-living with other ESC volunteers of the foundation. The activities will take in A Coruña, Betanzos and Cambados.

Training during the activity

The volunteers will receive on-the-job training from the foundation team regarding to the activities and mobility. The volunteers have the right and obligation to attend following TEC trainings: - pre-departure training for participants by supporting organisations, - on-arrival training (volunteering activities of at least 2 months) by Spanish National Agency, - mid-term evaluation (only volunteering activities of 6 months and longer) by Spanish National Agency.

Participant profile

The ideal participant is a motivated and proactive individual with a strong interest in contributing to local community development and cultural heritage protection. Candidates should demonstrate enthusiasm for participating in projects related to agriculture, marketing, or the restoration of coastal and marine areas, in line with their personal background and interests. Participants should have good interpersonal and communication skills, enabling them to work effectively within an international team and to engage with local communities and stakeholders. An open-minded attitude, adaptability, and willingness to learn are essential, as the activities will take place in diverse rural and semi-rural environments. Previous experience or interest in areas such as non-formal education, sustainability, environmental protection, cultural heritage, or community-based projects will be considered an asset, though it is not mandatory. Basic knowledge of Spanish is an advantage but not required, as language support and learning opportunities will be provided during the project.
