Creating Safe Spaces and Youth Ministry

Don Bosco Foundation

Sliema, Malte

Description

The Don Bosco Foundation is a philanthropic organisation committed to focusing on the needs and education of children and young people, especially those who are poor, vulnerable, or abandoned. Through the support of social and educational projects, we aim to promote the welfare and development of young people by fostering opportunities that prioritise their best interests. The Foundation also promotes and supports the network of Salesian Voluntary Organisations by training and equipping volunteers to meaningfully contribute to their efforts, while strengthening the capacity of our network of 14 registered organisations. Our services offer various opportunities where volunteers can engage in impactful work, aligned with their unique experiences and aspirations, to create a brighter future for children and youth.

Modalités d'hébergement, de restauration et de transport

The NGO rents 2 apartments to make sure that the volunteers are very well taken care of with adequate privacy and living standards. Food and transportation are covered in the pocket money that they receive every month.

Formation pendant l’activité

The volunteers are trained regularly as they work closely with the staff at Don Bosco Foundation. They will be involved in every step of a project and will always work in a team and supervised by one of the staff.

Profil du participant

Volunteers will be involved in different areas depending on their interests and skills. Some volunteers will support project management and implementation, assisting with planning, coordination, and delivery of activities. Others will work in a home-care setting with young boys, supporting them in their daily routines, offering guidance, and acting as positive role models by promoting healthy habits, responsibility, and life skills. All roles focus on non formal learning, learning by doing, teamwork, and making a meaningful impact.
