Description
The Don Bosco Club is a Catholic center for open children’s and youth work. We combine leisure education, youth social work and community-based outpatient support. Our goal is to offer children and teenagers a safe space for experiences, meeting others, play and exploration. We also support young people in the transition from school to working life and strengthen their social and vocational integration through social-pedagogical guidance. As a volunteer, you support the team in daily activities: supervising the open area, helping plan and run leisure programs and events, organizing sports projects, co-planning holiday programs/trips, and leading your own multimedia projects (photo, film, computer/internet). You can try new things, take responsibility and contribute your ideas with support from an experienced team.
Modalités d'hébergement, de restauration et de transport
Meals: Meals are partially provided; for the remaining part, a meal allowance is paid. Accommodation: Furnished, lockable private room with access to a bathroom and cooking facilities.
Formation pendant l’activité
Volunteers take part in ESC training seminars as well as additional seminars organised by the Cologne Volunteer Agency, the leading organisation. Volunteers receive a public transport ticket for local public transportation.
Profil du participant
Language skills: good German or good English. Interest in and enjoyment of working with children and young people. Areas of interest: sports and/or media (photography, film, internet, computers). Flexibility, as the needs of young people may require spontaneous responses.
