Foundation for Holistic and Sustainable Development Windmill Tree

JELENIA GORA , Pologne

Description

This project supports local grassroots initiatives in Jelenia Góra focused on solidarity, inclusion, and ecological responsibility. Please write in your e-mail your own proposal for the activities with kids. Volunteers cook vegan meals twice a week for people experiencing homelessness, sharing responsibility for preparation, serving, and cleaning. They also design and lead workshops for children from orphanages and organise integration activities with elderly residents of care homes. Community park clean-ups are part of the programme, strengthening care for public green spaces. Volunteers additionally gain experience and basic training in working with people with disabilities. The project combines social engagement, teamwork, and physical activity, and requires openness, reliability, and respect for others. As it is short-term activity we do not accept participants who will need visa

Modalités d'hébergement, de restauration et de transport

Volunteers will stay in the KANS student dormitory in Jelenia Góra. Rooms are shared by two people and each room has a private bathroom with a shower. Basic furniture is provided. There is a shared kitchen on each floor where volunteers prepare their own meals and cook together. The building also offers common areas and a small exercise room. We expect everyone to respect shared spaces, keep common areas clean, and use water and electricity responsibly. The project promotes plant-based nutrition. During collective cooking sessions, volunteers prepare vegan meals for the community.

Formation pendant l’activité

The project includes ongoing learning and reflection elements that support both personal and group development. At the beginning of the activity, volunteers will take part in team-building sessions focused on trust, communication, and cooperation. These meetings help create a safe working environment and clear group agreements. Regular reflection meetings will be organised throughout the project. They provide space to evaluate activities, share experiences, discuss challenges, and adjust tasks when needed. Volunteers will also meet with our long-term volunteers, who will share their practice
