Through the Seasons - ESC Volunteering at Re‑Green 2026

Eleftheria Fotiadou & SIA OE

ASSOCIATION FOR EUROPEAN COOPERATION DEVELOPMENT AND COMMUNICATION

Seliana Aigeira, Achaia, Peloponnese, Grèce

Description

Join a 2-12 month immersive ESC experience in the mountains of Seliana, Peloponnese, Greece. Open to young people aged 18-30 who are resident in Belgium, this program invites you into a landscape of extraordinary natural beauty - nestled between the wildlife reserves of Mount Chelmos and Mount Kyllini, home to rich biodiversity and thriving ecosystems. The valley hosts an international eco‑village community, organically grown over the years, offering daily intercultural exchange and shared learning. You’ll explore permaculture, regenerative gardening, zero‑waste living, climate adaptation, nature restoration, and community life. The program follows the rhythm of the land - from the quiet introspection of winter to the abundance of summer - offering real skills, personal growth, and space for your own projects. All costs are covered by ESC, and no experience is required - just curiosity, openness, and a willingness to live and learn in community.

Modalités d'hébergement, de restauration et de transport

Volunteers stay in Re‑Green’s historic Guesthouse, a 250‑year‑old stone‑built home once known as the “House of the Pashas,” and later used as a village primary school. Carefully restored with natural materials, it offers five unique rooms, each with a private bathroom, combining traditional character with modern comfort. All meals are provided in a fully equipped kitchen and are organic, and mostly garden‑to‑table. Travel to and from Greece is covered by the ESC program, along with insurance and local transport related to the project. Volunteers also receive pocket money for person

Formation pendant l’activité

Training is practical, and volunteers learn by doing: tending regenerative gardens, building soil health, planting, composting, saving seeds, and helping preserve food. Training also includes zero‑waste living, natural product making, and small‑scale climate‑adaptation practices such as water retention, mulching, and biodiversity observation. Community learning is a core element. Volunteers practice communication, cooperation, shared decision‑making, and conflict‑resolution skills. Mentoring sessions and Youthpass support each volunteer’s personal learning path.

Profil du participant

We’re looking for young people aged 18-30 and resident in Belgium who feel excited about stepping into a new environment, meeting international peers, and discovering a slower, nature‑based rhythm of life. You don’t need any specific background - just an open mind, a cooperative spirit, and a willingness to be part of a small community in a beautiful rural setting.
Volunteers should feel comfortable sharing a room with a same‑gender roommate and taking part in the shared responsibilities that keep community life flowing. Whether you’re seeking time for personal growth, new perspectives, or meaningful connection with people and place, this experience can be shaped with you. The length of your stay is flexible. Together, we’ll create an individual agreement ranging from 2 to 12 months, based on your availability, interests, and learning goals.
