Summer Camp in Pétervására

Egyesek Ifjúsági Egyesület

Pétervására, Hongrie

Description

Hét Kútforrás Social Foundation works to prevent the cycle of extreme poverty and promote social inclusion, shared responsibility, and equal opportunities. In Heves County, it operates several Tanoda after-school centres, providing safe, supportive spaces where disadvantaged children and families can learn, grow, and build confidence through educational and creative activities.Volunteers will support the summer camps organized by the Hét Kútforrás Foundation, mainly for disadvantaged Roma children. The activities usually take place in the afternoons and are held at three locations: Pétervására, Szajla, and Erdőkövesd. Most of the children are between 6 and 10 years old. The program includes games, creative workshops, sports, and lots of fun together. The children especially love singing and dancing, so volunteers who are happy to teach songs or dances from their own culture are very welcome.

Volunteers will be accommodated in the dormitory of the secondary school in Pétervására, in shared rooms with three beds. Three meals per day are provided (with hot meals for lunch and dinner), and a vegetarian option is also available. Each volunteer will also receive €7 per day as pocket money. Travel costs to the project location will be reimbursed based on the distance traveled after participation. All necessary equipment for the tasks will be provided.
