Description
Colours without Borders is a 16-day international group volunteering project in Budapest, Hungary. The project is hosted by two youth organisations (EgyüttHató in Budapest, MOPKA in Veresegyház) working with local communities and young people with diverse backgrounds. Participants will explore social issues, meet activists and organisations, and learn how art can express ideas and inspire change. Through workshops, study visits, and discussions, volunteers will learn about street art, activism, and teamwork. Together, the group will design and paint a mural on the wall of a community space, creating a lasting artwork. No previous art experience is needed, only motivation, openness, and curiosity. The programme also includes intercultural exchange, outdoor activities, and time to explore Budapest. Participants will live and work together, gain new skills, meet people from different countries, and experience inclusive community life.
Modalités d'hébergement, de restauration et de transport
Accommodation, food and travel are supported by the project. Participants will stay in shared apartments in Budapest, usually sharing rooms with other volunteers. Bed linen is provided, but please bring your own towel. Volunteers receive 14 EUR per day for food and pocket money. Local transport in Budapest will be arranged by the hosting organisations. During the project, participants will visit both hosting organisations, so activities will take place partly in Budapest and partly in Veresegyház. International travel costs are reimbursed according to ESC distance bands after the activity.
Formation pendant l’activité
Participants will receive continuous learning support during the project through non-formal education methods. Activities include workshops, discussions, study visits, and creative sessions about social issues, activism, and street art. Participants will meet activists and organisations, learn from real experiences, and reflect together in group sessions. The programme also supports teamwork, communication, and intercultural learning. At the end of the project, volunteers will reflect on their learning outcomes and receive a Youthpass certificate.
