Description

The volunteer will join the ASPEm team within the ACT4PEACE project, supporting MANTHOC, an organization committed to fighting exploitation and promoting children’s rights, education, and youth participation. They will focus on strengthening support systems for working children and adolescents in marginalized urban contexts, promoting the balance between education and livelihood activities. They will contribute to institutional fundraising and to actions at national and international level, strengthening the organization’s advocacy capacity and visibility through social media and the dissemination of digital content, also contributing to monitoring the use of resources. They will also use digital tools for resource mobilization and support the monitoring of their use. They will also participate in training activities on the management of human and financial resources aimed at caregivers of children. The required commitment is between 30 and 40 hours per week, excluding travel time.

Modalités d'hébergement, de restauration et de transport

Accommodation will be provided in single rooms located in safe, well-connected residential areas with access to public transportation to different parts of the city. The apartment will include a living room, dining area, kitchen, bathroom, and basic utilities such as electricity and water; home internet service will also be arranged. Nearby, there will be supermarkets, and/or a gym, and/or green areas, and/or cultural spaces. Regarding meals, the area offers shops, supermarkets, and restaurants with affordable menus, including vegetarian and/or vegan options.

Formation pendant l’activité

Volunteers will take part in a pre-departure training with ASPEm and an arrival briefing on the organization and context. During the experience, they will join sessions on the socio-political context, security and adaptation, and attend online trainings on Security in Humanitarian Contexts, Global Solidarity, Feminist Cooperation, and Climate Justice. They will develop transversal skills and strengthen their competences in autonomy, teamwork, time management and communication. Final career guidance sessions will support their transition into employment. Youthpass will certify all competences.

Profil du participant

A volunteer with a profile and experience in resource management, resource mobilization, and digital communication, with recommended knowledge of design tools (Canva or Adobe) and familiarity with Google tools. Interest or knowledge in sustainability and human development will be valued, especially regarding children in vulnerable situations, as well as an intermediate–advanced level of Spanish, French, and English. Skills in social media and digital culture will also be appreciated. Sensitivity toward promoting children’s rights and their social and political participation is essential. Key competences include teamwork in intercultural contexts, adaptability, autonomy, organizational skills, proactivity, learning ability, and problem-solving. Candidates must be between 18 and 35 years old, reside in one of the eligible countries (EU Member States, North Macedonia, Iceland, Liechtenstein, or Türkiye), have completed the mandatory training in humanitarian aid volunteering, and must not have previously participated in an individual humanitarian aid volunteering. The total duration of this and any previous EU volunteering experience cannot exceed 12 months. The selection process will start from the week of May 11.
