Volunteer in Uganda: Protect the Planet, Uplift Communities, Make a Difference!

VIATORES CHRISTI COMPANY LIMITED BY GUARANTEE

Hoima , Uganda

Descripción

Volunteer in Hoima, Western Uganda, as part of a friendly team of 4 EU volunteers supporting conservation, schools and community action. You will work with VC Uganda, Justice and Peace Commission Hoima and the Bulindi Chimpanzee and Community Project, whose work with wild chimpanzees featured in BBC’s Planet Earth III with Sir David Attenborough. This is hands-on: planting trees, helping in tree nurseries, caring for seedlings, supporting reforestation, visiting schools and community groups, and helping deliver simple workshops on conservation, climate action and care for the environment. You will also support children and young people through activities inspired by the Jane Goodall Institute’s Roots & Shoots resources, and may help share stories and photos with a local communications person. You will not work or live alone. Volunteers work in pairs or with local staff and stay together in Hoima. A chance to learn, serve, make friends and support people, wildlife and the planet.

Alojamiento, manutención y transporte

JPC Hoima and BCCP have offices with Wi-Fi, resources and workspace. Watching English Premier League football with local people at the hotel is often a highlight.

Training and support will cover safety, safeguarding, culture, teamwork, tree planting, nursery work, school and community workshops, conservation awareness, communications and sustainable development.
