Description
Our project involves volunteers coming from different countries, who will be inserted for 9 months, from September 2026 to May 2027, in the context of Amycos' work in Burgos and its province. The project aims to involve the volunteer in a local network promoting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The main activity will be working in an urban organic garden boosting ethical purchasing groups in Burgos and contributing to responsible production and consumption — please, be aware that this work is strictly physical. The other activity will be supporting in leisure activities for adults with intellectual disabilities (cooking classes, basketball, footboll, theatre, etc.). Additionally, and according to their profile, the volunteers could be involved in: • Educational and Awareness activities with children and • Administrative and Organizational tasks in the office, promotion and organization of trade fairs and charity events.
Modalités d'hébergement, de restauration et de transport
The volunteers will be hosted at an apartment chosen by Amycos and in accordance to the basic qualitative standards. The house is in the city of Burgos and each person will have a single room, while the other spaces (kitchen, bathroom, living room) will be shared with other volunteers. The accommodation will be in charge of Amycos and the volunteer will receive each month 180 € for food plus a pocket money of 180 €. Burgos is a small city and everything is within walking distance (supermarkets and any kind of shops, cinema etc.), so it’s not necessary to use local transportation daily.
Formation pendant l’activité
Once they arrive, the volunteers will be assisted by the project coordinator and will be assigned a tutor for each activity. The coordinator will show the volunteers how the association works and what kind of activities they will carry during their stay in Burgos. He will help them to enrol in Spanish classes planned in collaboration with organization Atalaya Intercultural. Besides the coordinator and the tutor, the volunteers will also have a mentor who will help them to know the city and its possibilities and will help them with strictly personal matters in case of need.
Profil du participant
Interest in the project: The volunteers will need to participate fully in the project, having the desire to contribute actively and agree on Amycos goals connected with the social change for sustainable development. Experiences and competences: considering the tasks that will be assigned, the volunteer has to be able and happy to do a physical and hard work in the organic garden; Personality: generally, we need people who are positive, flexible and willing to work in group in a multicultural context. Spanish language skills will be appreciated but they are not an essential condition in the beginning; the volunteers will have the possibility to learn it / improve it as Amycos will offer Spanish classes at Atalaya Intercultural.
