Peupl'en Harmonie is partner with Karukera & Friends, a youth-led non-profit organisation based in Guadeloupe, a French outermost region of the European Union. The offer from Karukera & Friends : As a European Solidarity Corps volunteer, you will contribute to educational, artistic and intercultural activities that empower young people through non-formal education. Depending on your interests and skills, you will support language workshops, creative activities, youth events, awareness campaigns and international mobility initiatives. You will work alongside our team in schools, youth centres and local communities while discovering the unique culture of the Caribbean. Throughout your volunteering experience, you will develop skills in youth work, project management, intercultural communication, event organisation and non-formal education, while making a meaningful impact on the local community.
Modalités d'hébergement, de restauration et de transport
Volunteers will be accommodated in a shared flat with other ESC volunteers, in double or triple rooms with shared common areas. A grocery allowance will be provided every two weeks, allowing volunteers to prepare their own meals. Local public transportation is covered through a bus pass, making it easy to travel between the accommodation and activity locations. In addition, volunteers will have the opportunity to take part in a monthly group excursion to discover Guadeloupe's natural and cultural heritage.
Formation pendant l’activité
Volunteers will receive continuous support throughout the project. The programme includes: Online preparation meetings before arrival Welcome training and local orientation upon arrival; Continuous mentoring by the hosting organisation; Individual support from a dedicated tutor; Participation in the Youthpass process to reflect on learning outcomes; Practical training in non-formal education, intercultural communication, youth participation, facilitation methods and European youth programmes. Learn by actively participating in workshops, educational activities and commun projects
Profil du participant
We are looking for motivated young people aged 18–30 who are curious, open-minded and eager to engage in an intercultural experience. No previous experience is required. We value motivation, creativity and a willingness to learn more than technical skills. Ideal volunteers are interested in one or more of the following areas: - Youth work - Non-formal education - Arts and culture - Languages - European mobility - Community engagement We are especially looking for volunteers who are enthusiastic about sharing their own culture and language with others, while also being open to discovering Caribbean culture, traditions and ways of life. We believe that intercultural exchange is a two-way process where everyone learns from one another. Basic English is recommended. French is an advantage but is not required. Volunteers should be comfortable living in a shared environment and ready to actively participate in all aspects of the project.
