Create Change This Autumn: Human Rights Volunteering in Bulgaria

VAZMOZHNOSTI BEZ GRANITSI

SOFIA, Bulgarie

Description

Want to spend autumn in Bulgaria making a positive impact? Join our team in Sofia for a short-term European Solidarity Corps volunteering experience of 52 days between October to December!

We are looking for 2 motivated volunteers who want to contribute to promoting human rights, equality, inclusion, and active citizenship among young people. During your stay, you will take part in interactive workshops, educational activities, youth events, campaigns, and creative initiatives focused on fighting discrimination, hate speech, and stereotypes.

You will work with young people across Bulgaria, use non-formal education methods, and contribute to our innovative educational board game BARABAR. This is a great opportunity to develop your communication, teamwork, and facilitation skills while experiencing life in an international environment.

If you are curious, open-minded, and ready to learn, connect with others, and create positive change, we would love to welcome you to our team.

Modalités d'hébergement, de restauration et de transport

You will be accommodated in a shared apartment in Sofia, close to our office, the city center, and a park. You may share a room with a volunteer of the same gender. The apartment is fully equipped with everything you need for daily life, including cooking and household facilities. Our current volunteers will help you discover the area and settle in. You will receive a food allowance, a monthly pocket money allowance, and a public transport card. After selection, we will arrange your travel tickets and health insurance.

Formation pendant l’activité

During the volunteering period, you will receive task-specific training on Human Rights and Non-formal Education provided by IOA trainers. You will also participate in Bulgarian language lessons to help you communicate, connect with the local community, and make the most of your experience in Bulgaria.

Profil du participant

We are looking for an open-minded and motivated volunteer who is passionate about democracy, human rights, equality, and inclusion. The ideal participant is curious about different cultures, traditions, and perspectives, and believes in creating communities where everyone feels respected and valued. Previous volunteering experience, local activism, or involvement in human rights and youth work is a plus, but motivation and willingness to learn are just as important. We are looking for someone who enjoys working with young people, feels comfortable facilitating activities in schools and youth spaces, and is eager to contribute to meaningful educational projects. Skills in design, training, communication, or IT are welcome.
