Description
The Cultural Association of Selianitika Ilios, based in Aigialeia, Western Greece, is looking for one motivated young person to join a long-term European Solidarity Corps volunteering activity for up to 12 months. The volunteer will become an active member of our organisation and local community, contributing to cultural, social, solidarity and youth activities. Tasks may include supporting cultural events and creative workshops, solidarity initiatives for vulnerable groups, youth and community activities, awareness-raising actions on inclusion and equality, and digital communication through photos, videos, social media and website content. The volunteer will also be encouraged to propose ideas and develop small personal initiatives, while gaining intercultural, social and digital competences through non-formal learning and community participation. The activity is planned as a 12-month volunteering experience, with flexible starting dates within the project period.
Modalités d'hébergement, de restauration et de transport
Accommodation will be provided by the hosting organisation in the area of Selianitika, Aigialeia, Western Greece. Food and local transportation related to the volunteering activity will be covered or provided by the organisation. The volunteer will receive €7 per day as pocket money, according to the applicable ESC rates for Greece. Travel costs to and from Greece will be supported according to the official ESC distance bands.
Formation pendant l’activité
The volunteer will receive an introduction to the organisation, the local community and the planned activities at the beginning of the project, followed by continuous guidance and mentoring throughout the volunteering period. The participant will take part in the training and evaluation activities provided within the European Solidarity Corps framework and will be supported in reflecting on and documenting their learning outcomes through Youthpass.
Profil du participant
We are looking for a young person aged 18–30 who is motivated to live and volunteer in a local community in Greece. Previous professional experience is not required. We value responsibility, openness, willingness to learn, teamwork and interest in solidarity, culture, youth participation, social inclusion and digital communication. Basic English communication skills would be useful. Skills or interest in social media, photography, video, graphic design, website content or other digital tools will be considered an advantage, but are not essential. Motivation and willingness to participate actively are more important than formal qualifications or previous experience.
