Description

Healthy Connections within Society is a European Solidarity Corps Volunteering Team activity taking place in Kozani, Greece, from 1–22 November 2026. Six international volunteers will work together to create a public health festival for World Diabetes Day on 14 November. Starting from a blank canvas, participants will develop the festival concept, activities, visual identity, communication campaign, workshops, sport and wellbeing activities, community outreach and event logistics. The project will explore health broadly, including physical and mental wellbeing, prevention, healthy lifestyles, inclusion, health inequalities, stigma and social connection. Volunteers will collaborate with the local community and may engage schools, health professionals, sports organisations, youth groups and other local actors. The activity combines creativity, teamwork, non-formal learning and real event-management experience.

Accommodation will be arranged for participants for the full activity period in Kozani. Food support and pocket money will be provided according to European Solidarity Corps programme rules. Eligible travel costs to and from Kozani will be covered within the applicable ESC distance-band limits. Participants will also receive European Solidarity Corps insurance coverage. Local practical support will be provided by the hosting organisation throughout the activity.

Formation pendant l’activité

Participants will receive preparation, mentoring and ongoing support throughout the activity. The first days will focus on team building, understanding the local context and exploring health-related challenges in the community. Volunteers will learn through non-formal education, practical teamwork and hands-on festival development. Training will include planning, communication, facilitation, community outreach, event organisation, reflection and problem-solving. Participants will also reflect on their learning and document their competences through Youthpass.
