Challenge Hate, Promote Inclusion - ESC Team Volunteering in Sofia
VAZMOZHNOSTI BEZ GRANITSI
SOFIA, Bulgarie
Description
Join a team of 7 international volunteers in Sofia, Bulgaria, for a 59-day European Solidarity Corps experience starting on 15 January!
Together with Infinite Opportunities Association (IOA), you will promote human rights, diversity, inclusion, equality, and active citizenship. You will prepare and deliver interactive workshops in schools, develop new non-formal education activities and materials for teachers and youth workers, and explore topics such as discrimination, stereotypes, and hate speech. You will also create social media posts, photos, and videos to promote IOA's work, participate in public events and campaigns to represent the organisation, and engage with local communities. Additionally, you will contribute ideas to educational initiatives, including our BARABAR human rights board game. Through these activities, you will help young people challenge prejudice, understand human rights, and build more inclusive communities.
Modalités d'hébergement, de restauration et de transport
Accommodation will be provided in shared apartments in Sofia, close to our office, the city centre, and a park. You will live alongside the other team volunteers and two long-term European Solidarity Corps volunteers, giving you the opportunity to exchange cultures and build friendships. Room and apartment arrangements will be confirmed before arrival. You will receive a food allowance, pocket money, and a public transport card. Travel arrangements and health insurance will be organised according to European Solidarity Corps rules.
Formation pendant l’activité
You will receive training from IOA on human rights, diversity, inclusion, and non-formal education. You will learn how to design and facilitate interactive workshops, develop educational activities for schools, and create engaging social media content. You will also gain practical experience in awareness-raising campaigns and public events. Bulgarian language lessons will help you communicate with local people and connect with the community. Regular reflection and feedback will support your learning throughout the project.
Profil du participant
We are looking for 7 open-minded, motivated, and creative volunteers interested in human rights, diversity, inclusion, and active citizenship. You should be willing to work with young people in schools, help develop interactive educational activities, create social media content, and participate in public events. Skills in writing, graphic design, photography, video editing, public speaking, or youth work are welcome, but previous experience is not required. We value initiative, teamwork, flexibility, respect for different perspectives, and a willingness to learn, share responsibilities, and live and work together in an international group.
