The power of together

Where Cultures Meet, Community Grows

STOWARZYSZENIE JEDEN SWIAT

Poznan, Poland

Description

What brings people together when they come from different backgrounds? Stories, creativity, traditions and the chance to get to know one another.

In this project six international volunteers will explore how cultural diversity can help build a more connected and welcoming community. Together with local organisations working with children and adults, volunteers will organise creative and intercultural workshops inspired by their traditions, family stories, values and everyday lives.

The project will create opportunities for people from different backgrounds to meet, share experiences, learn from one another and discover what connects us while celebrating what makes each of us unique. Volunteers will also help prepare a community gathering where participants can exchange traditions and build new connections.

You don’t need to be an expert — just bring your curiosity, ideas and willingness to share. Together, we will create a space where everyone’s story has a place.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

Volunteers will stay in a shared flat in Poznań, approximately a 10-minute walk from our office. The flat has three rooms, with two volunteers sharing each room.

Each volunteer will receive a public transportation card, paid for by the organisation, to make it easier to travel around the city. Volunteers will also receive €6 pocket money per day and a food allowance to cover their meals.

Training during the activity

At the beginning of the project, there will be an integration period to help volunteers get to know one another, settle into their new environment, learn about the project and prepare for the activities ahead. Throughout the opportunity, volunteers will have the chance to learn through practical experience, intercultural cooperation and teamwork.

Participant profile

We are looking for open-minded, curious people who enjoy meeting people from different backgrounds and are excited to share something of their own culture, traditions and personal experiences.

You don’t need to be a professional artist or workshop facilitator. We are looking for volunteers who are willing to take initiative, develop ideas and prepare creative workshops for children and adults, inspired by their traditions, family customs, stories, values or cultural background. Most importantly, you should be ready to learn from others and create activities that encourage people to connect.

Are you interested in social media? That’s a big plus! If you have experience with Canva, enjoy creating Instagram stories or know how to make engaging Reels, we would love you to contribute to sharing the project’s journey online.

You don’t need to have every skill already. Enthusiasm, creativity, openness and a willingness to work together matter most!
