Vilnius Atgaja school for disabled children
Vilnius, Lituanie
Description
The Vilnius Atgajos Special School has been educating pupils with severe special educational needs since 1970. One of the school's most important educational goals is to prepare pupils to live as independently as possible after leaving school. If you have the desire to help special children socialise, overcome behavioural difficulties and other barriers to learning, and are ready to learn new things, we welcome you to our school. As a volunteer, you will work as part of a team with teachers who will train you in the subtleties of communication with special needs pupils. Most of the pupils don't speak, but use alternative means of communication, which we invite you to learn. Volunteers help with various educational tasks during lessons, help students to manage challenging behaviour, and go on various trips outside the school with teachers and students. We are currently looking for 2 volunteers.
