EVS in Portugal - Join Us (Spain Volunteers)

Beschreibung der Tätigkeit

Volunteers will develop activities with - children from preschool (3 to 6 years) – such as plastic expression, gymnastics, storytelling, tours in the town and visits to the cultural centre. - elderly (from 65 years) – follow up in the various activities that they perform as gymnastics, swimming, artistic expression, table games, group walks, meetings with elders of other institutions and help with tasks of day-to-day. - partnerships – local schools, we will provide moments of exchange of experience between students and volunteers in the region, for example in activities related to other cultures and other countries. Volunteers will have Portuguese lessons with a teacher of elementary education, so that they can learn our language. To create a better integration in Portugal, regular cultural and social visits will be organized.

Beitrag zu Unterbringung, Verpflegung und Reisekosten

Volunteers will stay in the Centro Bem Estar Social Padre Tobias International House, it´s a house with 2 rooms for 3 people maximum and equipped with all the modern European house commodities. Food will be provided from the CBES Padre Tobias storehouse and cooked at home, or sometimes with the development of the activities the volunteers will eat in the cafeteria or restaurants and that will be supported by the project. Transports wen needed will be provided by the Institution.

Fortbildung im Rahmen der Tätigkeit

The volunteers will have at least 2 hours of Portuguese language lessons per week, they will be supervised by the organisation in activities with children and the Elderly and will have feedbacks on how to improve/learn their skills, and mainly the volunteers will have community projects were they can plan/suggest/develop activities that they like, and they will have our full support as long as they are pertinent. The volunteers will attend the formation provided by the national agency during their participation on the project.

Teilnehmerprofil

* Aged 18 to 30, who has some experience with voluntary work, if possible in the field of working with children, youth and older people. * Among personal attributes, we would appreciate self-initiative, responsibility, tolerance, conscientiousness, willing to help. * Among skills: capability to organise and communicate ability for creative thinking and team work. These attributes and capabilities are welcome, but not required. * Among desired interests of volunteer would be an interest for voluntary work, preparedness to keeping company with children and youth and elders
