Montessori education in Troyes

Montessori dans l’Aube is a non-profit organisation located in Troyes, a town 150 km southeast of Paris with 130 000 inhabitants. The aim of the organisation is to promote and spread the pedagogical methods inspired by Maria Montessori. It manages a preschool for children aged from 3 to 6 years old and a school for children from 6 to 9.. The organisation also trains adults to use Montessori pedagogy. The volunteer will support the teacher in the different activities with children: helping children to get autonomy during the educational or leisure activities, mealtime, clothing… In addition, volunteer will also take part in promotional events of the school. It is expected that the volunteer proposes intercultural activities and initiates children to English and foreign languages. Alojamiento, manutención y transporte

Volunteer will live in a fully equipped flat in the city center of Troyes. Money for the food and local transport expenses will be received.

Formación durante la actividad

Volunteer will participate in 2 trainings ("on-arrival training" and "mid-term evaluation seminar")

Perfil del participante

S/he should be with a positive attitude, open-minded and responsible. Volunteer should enjoy the work with children, be interested in alternative pedagogies in Early childhood education. Volunteer should as well be ready to take initiatives and have a good capacity to adapt. Basic knowledge of French is very helpful.
