Volunteering in High School Louis Guilloux, in Rennes

Activity description

The Vocational School Louis Guilloux is located in the city of Rennes, west part of France. Total enrolment in the school is 642 and the students can choose between diverse trainings: Fashion, Business, Customer and Relationship Management, Pastry-making, Cooking and Service. The high school is leading several European projects and host every year English and Spanish language assistants. Depending on the volunteer’s wishes, several types of activities can be carried out: - Organise intercultural workshops to prepare students to go abroad ; - Organise themed evening at the boarding school or at the library: movie nights, music show, theater, etc ; - Organise activities to promote international mobility ; - Accompany students during their educational outings ; - Intercultural workshops to prepare students to go abroad…

Ordninger for innkvartering, mat og transport

Accommodation : Shared house in Rennes with other volunteers ; Pocket money will be provided, plus money for covering the food expenses. Lunch will be provided at school ; Transports : The local transport card will be provided.The international travel expenses will be reimbursed on the basis defined by the European Commission. What is more, languages courses and regular mentoring will be provided.

Training during the activity

The volunteer will take part in an on arrival seminar and mid-term evaluation, organised by the French National Agency. In addition, the volunteer will take part in a training specific to the work in high-school. Together with other volunteers hosted in the region, he or she will spend three days learning about French educational system and non-formal education methods.

Participant profile

We are looking who shows desire to communicate, exchange, share and to learn. It seems essential that the volunteer wants to propose activities and feels able to facilitate activities. The teachers will of course listen to him to help achieve them.
