Mondo’s partner in Kenya is a local community organisation WEFOCO, comprising 25 self-help groups of 500 women. Western Focus Community Organisation is in Shianda, Western Kenya,and it mostly works supporting orphans, families suffering because of HIV/AIDS and helping generate incomes of those in need. WEFOCO is benefiting directly more than 100 children and 600 women through different welfare projects on education, livelihood and women empowerment. The main beneficiaries will be the tailoring group as well as young mothersThe volunteer will enhance the tailor groups' project management skills and knowledge on becoming self-sufficient and achieving economic independence. The tasks include: To continue supporting and monitoring the tailoring shop according to the instructions given by the previous volunteers. Continuing to teach business management and quality tailoring skills. Finding potential partnership opportunities.Modalités d'hébergement, de restauration et de transport
The volunteer will live in Shianda village, Western Kenya. During work, the main mode of transportation will be motorbikes or walking shorter distances. The host organisation will provide the volunteers’ safety and locked accommodation in the volunteers’ houses/apartments. They can have access to a kitchen and shower with all useful necessities: a water closet, tap, gas cooker, dishes, and Wi-Fi. Vo The volunteer will be given a monthly living and transportation allowance. The volunteer will receive a monthly allowance of 390 euros to cover basic needs and local transport.Formation pendant l’activité
The volunteer will have the opportunity to get deep knowledge about working with local community groups and with the tailoring shop in rural Kenya. The training includes working in a local context and integrating with different communities. The volunteer can participate in local language courses. WEFOCO is looking for a person motivated to contribute towards development and interested in entrepreneurship and small business development.` An enthusiasm for fashion design, tailoring, marketing, or relevant professional and/or academic experience in this field is highly desired, as well as relevant skills in sales and marketing. Good interpersonal, networking and communication skills, result-oriented, proactive, creative, communicative and optimistic attitude are welcomed. English (B2-C1).Dates de l’activité
