Volunteering with Samba Résille in artistic creation

Samba Résille is a cultural organization that develops a popular education project through multiple activities: Brazilian music lessons and shows for all audiences (adults, young people and impeached people), world music concerts, artistic residencies and exhibitions. It also develops numerous artistic and cultural projects in Europe, Africa and South America. Samba Résille wishes to involve a volunteer in the development of its activities with the support of a team of 9 employees, one civic service, one intern and 250 volunteer members in an open-minded organization, working hard on inclusivity to make everyone feel good, whatever their differences. We are looking for one volunteer, for a period of 9 months maximum between January and September 30th 2024, to carry out missions as a visual artist and decorator specialist of the Mexican culture.

Modalités d'hébergement, de restauration et de transport

We cover transportation and accommodation costs. The volunteer will have an allowance to cover food and local transport costs. As we are unable to accommodate you in our own premises, we will look for accommodation once the volunteer is legally assured of coming to France.

Formation pendant l’activité

The volunteer will work within a commission made up of volunteer members and salaried staff of Samba Résille. Together they will meet regularly to work on the creation of a show inspired by the Mexican parade of the dead. The volunteer, close to Mexican culture, will be able to bring his own approach and his own insight into this culture by reflecting on the differences in the place of death in Mexican and French societies. He will set up workshops involving all the volunteers of the association and will contribute to the organization of educational mobilities on this theme

Profil du participant

Artistic creation skills and personal sensibility to Mexican culture are welcome for this position. Candidates are more than welcome to send us a booklet of their creations, a CV and a cover letter.
