Voluntariado social - menores con cáncer

Description de l’activité

During these months you will design, plan and carry out activities with children affected by cancer and their families. Type of activities: Respiro familiar: Activities developed within the Maternity Hospital of La Candelaria with the children admitted. You will carry out activities with them, trying to provide them fun and entertainment while their parents are resting. Leisure and free time activities. Sometimes with the family, sometimes only with children, you will accompany them during leisure activities (visits to amusement parks, museums, cinema, etc). Camps, in summer we develop our camps. You will accompany us and enjoy with us a few intense weeks. Sports activities, you will accompany the children and their families in these activities, supervising and helping us to make sure that everything goes great. Dissemination and awareness. Activities that allow us to raise awareness about childhood cancer, raise funds and disseminate the European Solidarity Corps project.

Formation pendant l’activité

Training, before the beginning of your activity, one of the psychologists of the organization will give you the basic training. In this training you will learn all our projects and activities, basic knowledge about childhood cancer, volunteer activities, assumptions and much more. The Basic Training will be complemented by further trainings and workshops (e.g. clown training, improvisation, equality).

Profil du participant

Volunteer´s profile requirements: legal age of majority and being in good physical and mental condition. We are looking for a responsable, highly motivated and active volunteer who possesses good social, soft and team skills. The volunteer should be creative, flexible, empathatic, curious and like to do sports activities. Furthermore, the volunteer´s expectations should fit with the aims of our NGO. Good Spanish skills are a must, experience with working with children and/or adolescents, living abroad and dealing with different cultures are a plus
