Together with Mondo NGO, our local partner Uganda Pioneers Association (UPA) is working at Kikooba Infant and Primary School.. At Kikooba Infant and Primary School, the volunteer will organise teach some classes to the children, organise workshops, train teachers and help to create extracurricular activities in school, and raise awareness about education in the community through parents/guardians.Modalités d'hébergement, de restauration et de transport
Accommodation will be at Villa Mamu in Mengo which has private rooms, a big compound, a kitchen, a toilet, a hot shower, and Wi-Fi. Alternatively, some other place can be identified around Kampala considering convenience, safety and security aspects. The volunteer will have to commute each day he/she intends to work at Kikooba. It is possible on a motorbike taxi or local public transport (matatu). Kikooba area has poor telephone connection, and very low Internet connection. The volunteer will receive a monthly allowance of 450 euros to cover basic needs and local transport.Formation pendant l’activité
During the deployment, the volunteer gets to experience community work by participating in various activities implemented by MCAFS and Kikooba School. Further development of project management, communication and leadership skills are anticipated.Profil du participant
We’re looking for a motivated volunteer who has some experience working with vulnerable communities, a solid experience in teaching or developping of teaching materials, English proficiency – written and oral. Computer skills: MS Office. Interest in work on digital media – website, social platforms, or graphics (welcomed). Flexibility and ability to adapt to local conditions.Dates de l’activité
