EVS at Tourist Office "Bocage Bressuirais" - SW France

Activity description

The Tourist Office “Bocage Bressuirais” is a public body aiming at promoting the tourist area and the reception of tourists in the local territory. Between Puy du Fou and Futuroscope, in the heart of historic Poitou, the Bocage Bressuirais combines sites of historical tours, an original offer of leisure activities, typical and diverse landscapes as well as important events. The Office has started activities to improve the quality of its welcome but also to train services providers, which offers a wide range educational activities through various tourist attractions. The volunteer main activities will be: -Host the tourists at the Office (answer to their questions, present the territory and the possible activities). -Participate during the events of the territory. -Fill the database, update the linguistic part of the website of the Tourist Office. -Animate digital workshops about practical knowledge in IT. -Participate to the implementation of the Tourist Office brand.

Ordninger for innkvartering, mat og transport

The Tourist Office will find an accommodation for the volunteer in the city centre of Bressuire so that he does not need to use the public transportation services. The volunteer will get access to local transport to be able to join the closest towns (bus and train) and the supporting team (hosting and coordinating organisations) will give him all information necessary to make his mobility easy enough on the territory. The access to local transport will be paid by the project. The volunteer will receive money for food.

Training during the activity

During the EVS the volunteer will participate to the On-Arrival-Training and Mid-Term-Training organized by the National Agency. The volunteer can also be part of some additional training regarding the Tourist Office agenda.

Participant profile

The candidates have to be open minded, motivated, and interested by the themes of this voluntary activity: -Show real interest in tourism, animation and communication -Interest in digital tools -Interest in exchanging with all kinds of public. -Appreciate teamwork and intercultural situations - Adaptability and flexibility to be able to participate on punctual projects No specific qualification is necessary to participate on this project except for some kind of work autonomy and capacity to join a team. Knowledge of the French language would be appreciated but is absolutely not necessary
