Wild Futures Monkey Sanctuary rescue and rehabilitate primates from the UK pet trade. We are offering funded, live-in placements for both UK and non-UK volunteers. For those from the UK we have 2, 4 and 8 week placements. For non-UK residents we have 8-week placements as well as 3 x year-long Primate Care placements (to start January 2021). The role includes daily cleaning of monkey enclosures, tasks such as food preparation and making enrichment items as well as any re-roping enclosures, adding wood chip to outdoor spaces, gardening, painting and cleaning. Assisting in the café can also happen when we are open to the public. Volunteers will receive weekly education talks by staff members on our monkeys and their history, the organisation, anatomy etc. Days can be long and the work is often physically demanding so volunteers must be fit and able. Personal Protective Equipment will be supplied and certain Covid requirements apply. Please email for the full job description.
